UFC 109 Bonuses and Fight Night Awards
Chael Sonnen, Nate Marquardt, Paulo Thiago, and Matt Serra each picked up additional $60,000 fight night bonuses for their wins on Saturday at UFC 109: Relentless.
Sonnen and Marquardt went at it with the next middleweight title shot on the line and their bout was a war. For their wall-to-wall efforts the co-headliners took home “Fight of the Night” honors.
Thiago grabbed the Submission of the Night cash with his second-round D’arce choke that ultimately put Swick to sleep when he refused to tap.
Matt Serra was an easy choice for Knockout of the Night cash for his thumping overhand right that dispatched veteran Frank Trigg.
