UFC 105 Promo Reel, Interviews and Television Ratings
- Posted by Whitey Hudson on November 11th, 2009
On the last trip to the UK, the UFC captured superb ratings for the Spike TV broadcast of UFC 95.
The promotion delivered more young men aged 18-34 (634,000) and 18-49 (1,244,000) than anything else on television on Saturday, February 21 from 9 p.m. to midnight.
UFC 95: “Sanchez vs. Stevenson” from The O2 Arena in London, England, averaged more than 2 million viewers and peaked with 3 million during the main event and drew 13,268 to the arena.
Even though it was a tape-delayed broadcast, it whipped on an NCAA collegiate basketball game up between Oklahoma and Texas on ESPN.
Those are some impressive numbers, and the UFC can only hope for the same kind of success across the pond this time around.
With a card that features a host of UK fighters, and the always popular Randy Couture as a headliner, the show is sure to do well at the gate, but it remains to be seen as to whether or not this incarnation of the road show will touch the success of UFC 95…
