Our Interview With Former Playmate and MMA Fighter Latasha Marzolla

Former Playboy model turned fighter LaTasha Marzolla recently won her MMA debut in Las Vegas by whipping on Christy Tada until Tada’s corner threw in the towel after a single round at a Tuff-N-Uff amateur event.

Following an open model casting in Las Vegas back in 2000, Marzolla found her way onto the glossy pages of Playboy. Her blond beauty and Anna Nicole-like looks grabbed their attention and La Tasha was featured on three covers and numerous pictorials and was ultimately chosen as the Special Edition Model of the Year 2004.

Marzolla, a close friend of Gina Carano (who was in attendance for her initial MMA fight) fought her way through the opening moments of the bout as Tada connected cleanly with several hard punches. The two exchanged blows multiple times during the bout before a big punch by Marzolla towards the end of the initial round brought the fight to a close.

Marzolla had compiled a Muay-thai record of 11-3 before torn ligaments in her knee – and giving birth to her second child – forced her to the sidelines for three years. She returned to action this summer and for the first time fought under MMA rules.

She’s back in the ring this Friday to take on fellow Muay-thai practitioner and MMA convert, Kate McGray.
