Nate Diaz Talks About Training With Teammate Jake Shields

“Fast Eddie” Constantine of  promma.info talks with UFC Lightweight Nate Diaz at the 2009 Gracie Open in San Francisco, Calif., at the Kezar Pavilion.

Diaz talked about his victory over Adam Piccolotti in the Brown Belt division, Melvin Guillard, his brother’s super fight and training between fights with Jake Shields in the runup to Shields’ bout with Jason “Mayhem” Miller.

After two consecutive losses by decision, Diaz headlines UFC Fight Night 19 against Melvin Guillard.

Diaz was knocked down by a right hook from Guillard seconds into the fight then went on to score two takedowns.

Diaz’iron chin saved him on a number of occasions through the rest of the fight.

Diaz locked in a modified guillotine choke to tap Guillard and win at 2:30 of round two.

Diaz will face Gray Maynard on January 11, 2010 in the main event at UFC Fight Night 20.

The fight would be the second for the two who met in the semi-finals of the The Ultimate Fighter  5 lightweight tournament where Diaz came away with the victory.
