Jose is bad ass.
One thing, though, I am pissed that he got away with hitting Brown in the back of the head over and over right at the end. Brown was covering up too well so Jose went to the back of the skull instead.
Mazza-ass clown-gatti pulled Brock Lesner up and give him a warning (allowing Mir to comeback and win) but didn’t even say a F’n word about it here. The guy is inconsistent, and inaccurate; he’s a menace. Where’s Big John when you need him.
There is no reason to believe the out come would have been any different if there had been a real ref in the ring, but it leaves a shadow of doubt and Jose deserves better than that.
Why is there any doubt that Silva is just a hyped up product of the UFC?
How is it he can’t mix it up with lower level club fighters in the boxing ring? That’s very disturbing considering that since the advent of medical awareness of pugilistic dementia, boxing has probably less than 5% of number of the number of athletes competing than it used to have in the early seventies when boxing was already in serious decline. How is it then that Silva cannot even compete amongst the remmants of that sport?
Other say his performances in Pride were as disappointing. Has he been the beneficiary of “works” combined with media hype or is he actually legitimate? Apparently the rational juries are still a long way from being sure about Mr. Silva (and perhaps Mr. White as well).
The only thing we can be sure of here is that Mr. White is one hellava businessman ala McMahon! Of that there can be no doubt!
jose aldo is amazing
happy to see him take the belt from brown
oh, if you’re speaking out against anderson silva..
you’re a chump. take a look at his training regimen.
there’s a reason he has cleaned out nearly two divisions undefeated, and i wouldn’t say griffin or franklin are exactly washed up, but we’ll see how he does against belfort, should be awesome
Jose Aldo has this belt for a long, long time. I love Mike Brown but he has no kicking ability, he really only has a solid, rock hard right hand with a very limited ground game. Faber has no chance against Aldo, no way. As far as Brown getting lucky against Faber twice, I don’t think so. I say Jose Aldo (1) Mike Brown (2) Faber (3) Leonard Garcia (4). Faber needs to fight Garcia next! You will also see Miguel Torres fighting Jose Aldo within two years, take that to the bank!
Anderson Silva a punk? I thought he was one of the most respectful fighters out there. Needs to do sit ups? Does having a ripped stomach make you a better fighter? Schooled in pride? Sure anyone can be submitted or beat but some seem to learn more from there losses. Dirty tricks, back of the head? I’m assuming your talking about the Travis Lutter fight. A lot of people thought those were debatable but he was coming at an angle and not straight down on the head which would make them legal and i have seen other fights since then were other fighters were doing the same with there elbows. Easy Matches? That’s funny. Same Height? Forrest Griffin. Washed up? Who was washed up? Surely not Dan Henderson , Nate Marquart …
By the way, Anderson Silva is a punk. He needs to do some situps. UFC has done a good job of brainwashing the viewers. You guys obviously never watched him get schooled in Pride. UFC lets him get away with hitting the back of the head, all the dirty tricks he wants to get away with. I’m sick of seeing Anderson Silva and his disregard for sportsmanship and easy matches. Put someone in front of him who
1. isn’t punchy
2. is the same height
3. who isn’t washed up
Faber got beaten fairly 2x by Brown. There is no need for a rematch. Faber tried playing Brown’s game, and lost. Faber and Aldo would make for a very interesting matchup, however. Aldo with the longer body type doesn’t look as strong, but he is obviously stronger overall (core) than brown. Big arms does not equal strength. Aldo is more of a fast twitch ectomorph but has a LOT of strength associated more with the mesomorph (brown) body type- He has no match right now in this weight class. Not even close.
@ adam martinez. you said “faber should fight brown for a 3rd rematch”? HELL NO….there is no reason for that, Brown beat him twice and another thing is, He just lost the belt. If urijah doesnt fight aldo, he should fight to be the #1 conternder
I’ve been on vacation and just had a chance to watch the fight…Aldo is clearly lb. for lb. one of mma’s best. We all have seen his incredible stand-up…he’s got solid bjj skills…as quick as they come and now seeing his takedown defense against Brown…WOW. Remember, Brown is the same guy who had no problem taking anyone else at 145 down until now. Totally disagree with you mmatally…he DID deserve to be the champ. We all love Urijah but he showed me nothing in either fight to takeaway from Brown winning the belt and defending his title. I’m excited to watch Aldo mature as a champion and Faber will be next up. WEC was hoping for Aldo to win so they could give Urijah another title shot. No doubt that will be the next fight…Brown will have to wait.
Mike brown did great, but Jose Aldo was able to hit and get out real quick before taking a good punch from Mike brown. Minute 5:41 from the video, Aldo punches brown on the head, brown tries to cover his face and as Brown gets down to get on a guard position, Aldo kicks brown on the head again hard and pushes brown back to the cage, and Aldo goes after brown and hits him with the knee and punches Brown on the head again with another combination and then brown tries to take Aldo to the grown but Aldo was able to keep his feet separated and pushes brown’s body down and Aldo kept Browns arm and hands off his leg. Brown pushed aldo back to the cage, kicked Aldo on his legs to loose them up but at the end Aldo pushed Brown away and got out of the red zone. That right there was awesome! After that Brown just tried to use his power punch but Aldo was a little bit too quick to get hit. Round 2 got better. I thought Brown was going to finally hit Aldo but Aldo kept getting away and at one point he responded back with a turn back quick, fly knee kick, punch combination.. you know. he was just the typical Aldo we normally see on TV. Brown tried to take him down again, but Aldo pushed him back. Mike Brown tried to punch Aldo Hard on the head, but Aldo goes for the take down, and puts Brown’s back on the grown and feet went up in the air! man, that was just unreal to be that quick. Then brown gives his back to try to stand up and get on guard position but Aldo tries to flip him but Brown gets on his back again and Aldo started raining down 1-2-3-4-5-6 punches on Brown’s head, brown tried to use his feet to get up but after 6 or 7 punches from Aldo, he was hurt and I guess brown got on survival mode where you just get hit until they stop the fight. I could not believe it!! I was like WOW Mike brown got beat by Aldo!! I felt bad for Brown man, but that’s how the sport is. You win or you lose and that’s the first time I see brown lose a fight like that. Aldo is very fast, very strong and I do wonder if Urijah Faber can pick him up and slam him to the grown LOL Or can Jose Aldo keep up with Faber and destroy him. I can’t call it chief
I think faber should fight brown, 3rd rematch and if faber wins then he fights aldo, if brown wins he gets his rematch. But brown never deserved the belt in my eyes, it shoulda been aldo vs faber, would have made for a far better fight. Did you see how many mistakes aldo actually made in this fight though? and the belt might get him a little to cocky for faber.
aldo is good but hes far from being an anderson silva. brown didnt deserve the belt in the first place, he got lucky and caught faber with a lucky punch to win the belt and then was lucky again that faber broke his hand during the rematch. Faber will have the belt again…soon.
JACINTO! aldo ftw no1 is touching him for years not even faber a mini spider silva ! XD
Looks like Uriah Faber has a few mountains to climb, before he can possibly have a chance to take home the belt.Aldo might be another Silva
