  • Donald Cerrone vs. Benson Henderson

Round one:

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.

And those are absurd scores. It makes you wonder which fight the judges are watching. Henderson clearly won the first round after a slow start.

Round Two:

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Henderson.
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Henderson.
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Henderson.

Henderson clearly won round two and is thoroughly dominating the fight.

Round Three:

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Henderson.
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Henderson.
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Henderson.

Never a doubt in this round once again as Henderson controlled the action and took the round with a combination of takedowns and strikes.

Round Four:

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.
Mike Fridley scores the round 10-9 Cerrone.

Henderson was caught early in a very deep choke, but didn’t panic and escaped uninjured. Henderson then turned the round to his advantage with his superior wrestling.

Cerrone may have won the round by virtue of a couple of  chokes and some solid strikes and it would be hard to argue that, but I have Henderson winning three of the four rounds.

Round Five:

I give this round to Cerrone, but it’s impossible not to be impressed with Henderson’s guts and escapability

Henderson wins via unanimous decision. The fans seemed initially unhappy with the decision, but it was entirely correct.

Henderson wins a unanimous decision: 48-47, 48-47, 48-47.
