Spike TV and UFC President Dana White, never ones to let good content go to waste, have combed through the archives left over from the UFC’s purchase of the Pride Fighting Championships banner and come up with a brilliant idea; let’s show all the Pride fights on Spike.

kenda perez UFC To Dust Off Archive Footage for The Best of Pride Fighting Championships TeeVee SeriesThe Best of Pride Fighting Championships series starts January 11, 2010 at 11pm on Spike, and the show will be a weekly one hour series along the lines of UFC Unleashed.

As an added bonus, you get a few minutes every episode to gawk at host “Hometown Hotties” finalist Kenda Perez.

The series makes full use of the library of Pride video footage that Zuffa, LLC hauled in when they grabbed the assets of Pride in 2007.

The show will include segments of the former Pride stars that now work for the UFC like Dan Henderson, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Anderson Silva, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filopovic, and Wanderlei Silva.
Spike and the UFC also own lots of footage of Fedor Emelianenko, and you can be he’ll figure prominently in the initial broadcasts.

The UFC also put together an official Pride storefront at www.pridefcstore.com. The store includes shirts, shorts, hats and other assorted items.

If you can’t get Emelianenko to sign with your promotion, you might as well use bits of him, and the UFC (through their ownership of Pride assets) is sure to get good mileage from the old footage.
