Paydays for UFC 102
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira collected a purse of $400,000 for his win over Randy Couture on Saturday at UFC 102 in Portland, according to figures released by the Oregon State Athletic Commission.
Nogueira’s purse included a win bonus of $150,000. Couture earned $250,000 with both main event fighters picking up an additional $60,000 for Fight of the Night.
Nate Marquardt collected $140,000 with a $40,000 win bonus and $60,000 knockout of the night bonus. Demian Maia, for a very, very short night’s work, earned $28,000.- Brazilian Thiago Silva picked up $58,000 for stopping Keith Jardine, who earned $55,000.
- Heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga made $120,000 for stopping rookie Chris Tuchscherer ($10,000).
- Brandon Vera earned $70,000 for his decision over Canadian Krzysztof Soszynski, who took home $8,000.
- Jake Rosholt cashed in to the tune of $86,000, including $60,000 for submission of the night, in his choke out win over hometown fighter Chris Leben, who earned $30,000.
- Mark Munoz received $24,000 for his split decision win over Nick Catone, who took in $5,000.
- Mike Russow made $20,000 for his decision win over heavyweight Justin McCully, who was paid $15,000 for his loss to the Chicago police officer.
- Aaron Simpson collected $18,000 for his medical stoppage win over Ed Herman, who made $24,000.
- Evan Dunham earned $14,000 for his upset win over Marcus Aurelio, who got $13,000.
- Todd Duffee received $10,000 for his seven-second knockout of Canadian heavyweight Tim Hague, who was paid $7,000 per second. That must be a record as well…
