machida lyoto leap 150x150 Evans vs. Machida Postfight AnalysisW.C. Pikey: Oh my Gentlemen, that was certainly a cracking good scrap between Messrs. Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans.

Nat “Detroit” Mace: Boss, like I said, Machida’s training with Anderson Silva was a huge edge for him and it was downright amazing how much Machida reminded me of Silva when Anderson’s at the top of his game .

Whitey Hudson: I’m sold. I dropped a tidy little sum on this one taking Evans. I was sure, given the list of Evans’ past victims, he would rise to the occasion one more time, but it was never in the cards. Machida dominated the action from the opening and Rashad never even came close to landing a meaningful shot.

Pikey: Though I missed the pre-bout windup due to a prolonged stretch in the loo, I remind you, Young Hudson, that backing a fighter who is so heavily in disfavor with the gaming industry touts  is never money well managed. As I always like to wager a few crowns on the bigger matches, it proved to be most lucrative for me that I placed my bets on Mr. Machida.

Hudson: Typical of me, taking a guy who’s a +160 dog to win the fight, and I’m sure out my cash on that one. You could see from the first moments of action that Rashad was being careful and just couldn’t find an opening in Machida’s game he could exploit.

PN24-UFC6TRPikey: My successful 500 crown ticket on young Machida would yielded a modest but satisfying return.

Mace: Look, Machida is a BJJ phenom, he works with Silva all the time, so he can stand up with anyone. I like Evans, but there was just no way he could win this.

Hudson: At any rate, you both made your point about Machida and his BJJ skills, and I was stunned to see the pure power of his striking. I expected Machida to be much more careful and patient, but he didn’t wait long to take the fight to Evans, and once he did, it was over in a heartbeat.

Pikey: Well gents, as always a delightful discussion made all the more delectable by the sum of money now begging to be freed from my wallet. Please excuse me, but I’ll now be making a rendezous with my vintner for a spot of liquid refreshment.
