Torres Prepares for Mizugaki Fight

Chicago’s own Torres talks about his upcoming bout with Takeya Mizugaki on Sunday, April 5 at 9:00 PM ET from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL.

Torres rocketed to stardom with his victory over Maeda and now prepares to burnish his legend further with a win over the dangerous Mizugaki.

Though Mizugaki has recently dealt with a couple of tough losses and a pair of draws, five straight wins have brought him to the brink of a battle with Torres this Sunday.

He hasn’t yet signed with the Zuffa promotion group and the WEC, but according to Mizugaki, it’s his ultimate intention to do just that.

“Fighters are considered athletes, and I want to fight as an athlete,” Mizugaki said. “To me, the major leagues are the WEC. The WEC champion, Miguel Torres, is definitely at the top and someone I’m aiming for, no doubt.
